Wedding Planning and Coordination {Alison + Brent}

Alison and Brent got married on a clear day at Star Hill Ranch. Alison is a talented artist and hand letterer that drew out every area of her wedding design for me. Super special lady here, folks. A+B worked hard to bring their vision to life - lots of hand lettering all the paper elements, building a corn hole set, constructing boutonnieres, etc. It all paid off - their lovely wedding was featured on Southern Weddings! A+B have also started Wayfarers Creative Co. to share their lovely creative talents with the world. Congratulations, you two!

Hurray! It's time to post Jessica and Derek's lovely wedding photos by Griffin Photography. The big day took place at The Vineyards at Garden Ridge. I had the privilege to create a wedding design based on a few things the bride loved: flowers in wooden boxes and a romantic, rustic aesthetic. Lots of family and friends helped us pull off all the design projects, which I think gave the event a sweet, handcrafted feel. Barbie Foerster created all the beautiful florals and I think they fit the vision quite perfectly! Our pal Lauren of The Creative Parasol designed the wedding stationary, including the save the date, invitation, program, and thank-you-kindly stamp for favor bags. Happy birthday to the bird dog, Penny Lane!

A lot of people ask why I named my business Bird Dog Wedding.

For two reasons:

1. In hunting (and, no, I'm not an avid hunter by any means), to "bird dog" something means to send your dog to track and find whatever you're hunting. So, I apply this term to my wedding design. I hunt for the perfect wedding inspiration and design for each and every client, with the passion and tenacity of a bird dog ;).

2. The major reason, however, is my little bird dog, Penny Lane, the Brittany. She never ceases to inspire me with her quirkiness, loyalty, and overall sweet disposition. She brings a lot of joy to my life, and I decided to dedicate my business's name to her.

So now that you all think I'm a little crazy, I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to my girl! May many squirrels cross her path today.

Howdy! I am so, so excited for this June wedding at Star Hill Ranch. Alison, the bride to be, is a talented artist and handcrafted her lovely invitations as well as many other day-of graphic details. I swear I have the coolest clients!

For now, I wanted to give y'all a sneak peek of their design inspiration. They love natural elements juxtaposed against geometric shapes. And a relaxed, outdoors atmosphere. I can't wait to see it all come together on their big day.

Happy One Year to Us!

Today, we're celebrating the one year anniversary of Matt and I (not the blog). Matt is one of the most genuine, caring, sweet, fun-loving, funny guys I've had the pleasure to have known. He's my number one supporter and best friend. Everyday is an adventure we are lucky to share. I love you, babe!

April 9, 2011 was the best day of our lives and we got to cement our union in the eyes of the law (by the GREAT state of Texas). We had such a blast celebrating with our friends and family as you can probably tell.

Our design was bright and colorful bier garten.
