Joanna and Paul are two lovely folks living deep in the heart of Austin. Joanna came to me only looking for design work and I was happy to oblige her request. The fact that we both owned and spoiled liver-and-white Brittanies did not hurt the situation. I really heart their little family and wish them all the best in their future together!
For J+P, we created a southern-with-a-twist wedding and
Mercury Hall was the perfect backdrop. We took vintage elements that Joanna liked - bunting, furniture pieces, calico fabrics - and tried to present them in fresh ways. Three types of bunting were made from a mix of vintage sheets and fabric - including the horizontal bunting used in the reception space, which makes our heart hurt in a good way. And I'm not sure if there's ever been a happier ceremony aisle (see the cute bridesmaids below for proof). The bunting place cards with streamers also make us smile.
J+P had their fair share of personal details that really made this wedding special. Joanna hunted for fabric, bottles, cookie plates, and you name it in her hometown. She also wore her mother's engagement and wedding rings around her neck and had a bouquet of her mother's favorite yellow roses placed in her chair. Family and friends baked their favorite cookies for the dessert table. Paul's mother made them a bunting and contributed lots of fun vintage items she'd collected over the years. Joanna and I even collected twigs together outside her home for the head table. I love when family and friends come together to contribute to the big day.
